Since we have to put up with the fact that summer doesn’t last forever, if you, like me, live in the Netherlands.. One of the good things is the arrivals of the new collections so we can start the fall shopping! Scotch & Soda is always one of the first stores I check when shopping for early new season. I love the relaxed vibe at the same time with edgy details.

I styled the 3 pieces I suggest picking up now before they sell out and if you keep reading, I am going to show you how to start incorporating them into your current summer closet!

What I like the most about this look, is the contrast with this very feminine ruffle top paired with a tomboy sporty bomber jacket for an everyday casual chic look.

High rise jeans: My denim collection is becoming ridiculously big but I always have space for new jeans in my wardrobe. Especially if they are high rise and with some sort of edgy details, like this asymmetrical hem. High rise jeans have been going strong lately and they’re here to stay.. so, if you haven’t bought a pair yet, I say do and don’t delay! This denim cut is going to make all your outfits look on trend and it’s the first thing you can’t miss out during fall shopping.

2. Off white ultra feminine blouse: White it really is the new black! In summer AND winter! There’s nothing as refreshing for your wardrobe as adding a piece which is new season but you don’t have to wait for cold days to be worn. This blouse makes the perfect feminine piece to match to a full white look, an evening dressy outfit or a summer look with denim shorts! Fall shopping doesn’t mean waiting for cold weather.. It’s nice to incorporate new season light pieces that we enjoy immediately and carry on wearing towards the new season.

3. Bomber jacket: This outwear piece is exactly the kind of statement jacket you want in your wardrobe! It’s perfect to be throw on any basic and casual outfit and immediately would make your look much more interesting! Plus, the colour is super easy to match!

BEHIND THE SCENE OF MY SHOOT FOR KIEHL’S #MYBEDSIDETABLE CAMPAIGN

Many of you probably don’t know that beside my personal style blog, I’ve also been working as a stylist/content creator the past year. The styling and photography side of my job is the part I enjoy the most. I love creating digital images for brands beside the ones I daily shoot for my personal blog and Instagram. This time, it’s been a bit of a special campaign, since Kiehl’s is a brand I normally use myself and I am extremely happy of the impact I had on my skin with the Kiehl’s Midnight recovery concentrate.

I shoot this campaign for Kiehl’s at my place and it’s called My Bedside Table (you can follow the #mybedsidetable # on Instagram for more images). The campaign is about one of the Kiehls best-sellers, the Midnight Recovery Concentrate, a real must have on our bedside table! The styling was all about the essentials we all need before our day ends and you can find the full campaign on @kiehlsnl Instagram and soon printed in their Benelux stores.

If you haven’t ever tried the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery it’s a serum which works at night when our skin is the most receptive to recover. It’s produced from a mixture of natural oils, including naturally enriched lavender, teunis flower oil and squalan. Since I’ve been using it every night, my skin feels restored, revitalised and much smoother. I feel like waking up to a healthier skin every morning and it became easily part of my night skin routine!

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate has completely improved my evening routine! I am very pleased with how my skin looks and feel now. On top of that, I love the dark blue and gold packaging and it smells wonderful! Seriously, a miracle worker!

Straw bags is all we need to hold this summer!

Surprise-Surprise!!.. For once, to be on top of the trends, actually to hold the trend right in our hands, we do not need to break the bank to afford the latest designer pieces. SS17 it’s been benevolent with our credit cards and the options available out there are countless.

So far Pinterest and Instagram are offering countless straw bags inspirations. From designer ones, to high street, from upcoming and very cool brands, to straw bags picked up at vintage markets, or Marrakech original pieces..

SOPHIE ANDERSON: The Cinto basket is the one I am wearing. Loving the perfect convenient size, stripe details and detachable pom poms. It makes it fun for a daily look and you can remove the pom poms for a more evening outfit. I found mine on shopbop and it comes in a different version too, the Flores Basket Bag.
KAYU: I’ve got this one too, you can see it on my Instagram. Loving the tote shape, the stripe details on the handles and the different sizes it comes in. I found this one on shopbop too.
JADEtribe: I’ve just found this one out and fell in love! It’s the perfect fusion of the two above bags with the basket shape and the oversized pom poms make it a perfect summer statement. It comes in black and white and also a more colourful versions for the perfect summer feeling!
CULT GAIA: If you’re looking for a summer IT bag, this ark bamboo clutch is a must have!
WHISTLES: Another must have of this summer is a straw circular tote. Loads of space to carry all the beach essential and a very original shape to show off!

IN BRUSSELS WITH ISKO™

Last week I’ve been to Brussels for a very fun and interesting project with ISKO™. For the ones who never heard of this company, ISKO™ is the world’s most innovative denim manufacturer and its fabrics awarded the Nordic Swan and EU Ecolabel.

Nowadays we put so much attention on the origin of the products we eat and drink, on the testing of our beauty products.. but what about the items we wear?.. the denim we wear every day in this case, is it sustainable?

As a big denim lover, getting to know better how denim is normally produced made me change the way I wear and understand my jeans, this thanks to ISKO™, championing an awareness in conscious production in the denim industry. They produce jeans fabric for most of the denim brands I love and normally wear. Knowing that behind my denim and fashion addiction there is a company committed to helping the environment, makes me feel so much better and actually loving my jeans even more!

So, are you curious to know what we did in Brussels?

When I arrived in Brussels I met the loveliest girls who were on board on the project with me, Ella Grace Denton and her right hand, Jemma. First things first, we had lunch in one of the prettiest spots in Brussels, the CHYL, a healthy cafe and sustainable shop, before the kick off of our day with the ISKO™ team. The main focus of the day was the question ‘Is our denim sustainable?’.. Together with the girls, we shopped in the prettiest jeans stores of Brussels city centre exploring if the jeans we wear is not only the latest trend, but also good for the environment!”

If a denim brand selects ISKO™ as a supplier, it means that is sustainable at all means. They decide to work with the only denim mill producer in the world to hold an EU certified label, awarded for their level of sustainable practice.

I hope you guys enjoyed to know a little more about ISKO™ and what this company is doing to help our planet earth. Also, I hope you agree with me that fashion, and in this case denim, is even better when we know it’s coming from a safe source for our environment! OtterBox organised an outstanding trip for us. We stayed in Malaga and road tripped for four days through Andalusia soaking up all the magical vibes that the South of Spain has to offer.

For my job nothing is more important than my phone and OtterBox had it protected all day every day! We had a whole spread of phone cases we could pick each morning! Thanks to OtterBox my phone is always safe, making sure I can always capture and share the best images with you and stay connected at all times! My favourite is their ‘Clear Collection’ and the case I am always using now is the ‘Stardust’.

I couldn’t wait to finally sit and write this post to show you where we stayed in Malaga, our itinerary, what OtterBox organised for us and, of course, what I wore during the trip!

We stayed just outside Malaga at Rancho del Ingles. This place is truly a hidden gem. If you visit Malaga it’s a must stay! In fact, I really look forward to go back with Emma and Menno one day.. I had a big crush on this B&B! It’s owned by a lovely couple who really made sure we all had a great time. They have an amazing eye for details and every corner was a shot occasion! I could have easily been spending the whole of the trip chilling in their garden by the pool, with a magical view overlooking the Spanish hills. But we had to much to do and experience..

We explored the city centre of Malaga where the colours are breathtaking and each little street has a cute spot to offer. We ended the day having mojitos and tapas overlooking the sunset from a rooftop bar. It was the perfect occasion to get to know everyone while enjoying the view!

On the second day we spent the morning in Frigiliana. It’s the cutest little town with a greek look, white houses, blue details and steps.. Loads of steps! If you visit Andalusia I strongly recommend to go and take the time to explore it and enjoy each little corner. It’s seriously too cute!

When I thought Frigiliana would have been already a blast for the day, then I had to rethink. OtterBox seriously wanted to spoil us this time and organised a boat trip for the whole afternoon! We just chilled with music and some bubbles and it was my favourite time! I just love being on a boat!

On the third day we were up early and drove a couple of hours to visit Alhambra and Granada. If you visit Andalusia my tip is to rent a car so you can really make the most of it! I think it would really be a shame to just stay in the same city for the whole holiday.. this region has so much to offer and so many beautiful places to visit! Alhambra was incredibly busy and I strongly advise to go very early in the morning to avoid the big groups. Besides the million of tourists this is the most beautiful garden I’ve ever seen. Finally we had lunch in Granada city centre and spent the afternoon wondering the city and the local markets.

With 16 influencers, you can only imagine the amount of pictures which were taken! We seriously had a lot of fun and an incredible stay in Malaga. OtterBox really spoiled us and made our stay one of the best weekend of this summer and surprise surprise.. nobody’s phone crashed!! 😉 Content is safe!!..
