Let’s face it. Summer in Amsterdam doesn’t really offer tropical temperatures. Luckily we can play around with layers to help keeping alive our summer wardrobe (we’ve been killing to start wearing) by covering up here and there.

Shoes, in this case sandals, play a big part into making your outfit season appropriate, even if the temperatures are closer to the single digit. As soon as the sun comes out and the day seems to be dry our feet deserves some air and our pedicure some showing off.

To re-create this style you just need to mix and match your summer and fall wardrobe. Open shoes with a long cardigan or what also work is bare legs with ankle boots.

I really love this cardigan bold star print. It’s a casual cut and fit but the print really stands out and makes a simple outfit of skinny jeans and white t-shirt much more interesting. You know how much I love pairing my casual wardrobe with statement pieces and this cardigan and sandals really are the core for a summer in the city. They creates the perfect casual chic balance

Luckily the days in the city are not much left. We are all getting ready for our summer travelling but in the meantime we can still enjoy some city trendy looks without being too casual, neither too dress up.. or like, for us living in northern Europe.. never too warm! 😉

I love to shop for items that are perfect for an every day use like this Tommy Hilfiger stripy sweater. You can never go wrong with stripes and if you just add some fancy accessories to spice it up you are are going to give the right personality to your outfit.

It was the perfect casual cool ensemble to stroll around The Hague on last week sunny weekend! Blue stripy sweater, skinny ripped jeans and matching grey Onitsuka tiger created a comfy, yet stylish look.

Off duty looks are always my favourites and since the sun is still not strong in Holland (we still need a jacket most of the days) I paired my new Colmar jacket. It has the perfect biker jacket design but in a lightest material than regular leather. A match made in heaven for transitional weather!

In case you’d like to take this casual look into the evening, it’s possible and easy! The jewellery already allows you to dress up the casual sweater. You just need to add sandals with heels or pointy pumps and knot the jacket around your waist (it’s very cool at the moment) and you are ready for an aperitivo in a cool bar in the city!

My basic easiness of a denim and tee combo is promptly modified by adding on a casual but chic cape.

I must admit, sometimes I love too a feminine touch to my outfits. Especially if taken by one of my favourite French designers in the form of a knit wool cape. I didn’t want the bag to touch the full silhouette so I picked my oversized clutch, which can easily contain all my essentials without adding too much volume.
